Fours croft Foundations story
In 2015, while visiting a 13-year-old client in a group home, Kirsten realized how stark Christmas is for children in congregate care. Her family and seven of her friends decided to “adopt” the ten children in this home for the holidays. When asked what they wanted for Christmas, every single child requested shoes, underwear, and socks. Not one of them asked for anything that wasn’t a basic necessity. The Fours Croft team decided to not only provide each child with shoes, socks, underwear, a shirt, and a pair of pants, but also 2 to 3 items that they wanted (rather than needed). Each year, Four Croft Foundations friends and family have forwarded the list to more and more people who want to donate to this project. Last year, Fours Croft Foundation provided Christmas to approximately 100 children living in foster care group homes and had over 100 volunteers donating goods.
Our Mission
Fours Croft Foundation is a Phoenix-based organization, dedicated to providing supplementary support to foster children living in congregate care facilities in the Metropolitan Phoenix area. Our primary focus is providing basic necessities including clothing, shoes, and toiletries to improve the children’s daily life while in foster care group homes. In addition, Fours Croft provides the group home facilities with school supplies to support the children’s education and crafts, games, and sports equipment to enrich their living environment. Our largest project occurs during the holiday season, where we provide Christmas gifts to the children and the group homes to help ease the strain of separation from their families during the holidays.
